My sweet, close and beautiful friends living in Istanbul warmly recommended the Fairmont Quasar Hotel when I was last visiting one of my favorite cities in the whole world, so I trustfully followed their advice and paid a visit to this new hotel close to Levent neighborhood in Istanbul.

You should have seen my face when I was getting closer to the complex! Worth millions of dollars as I am not a big fan of glass buildings! I was ready to move around and leave when I remembered my grandmother’s wise words: never settle for what the eyes see, settle for what the heart feels.

I entered the building and all my prejudices melted down, as this palazzo is one of the most homey and welcoming hotels I have ever been to!

When entering, a feeling of warmth, originality and undeniable beauty overwhelms your entire being and the only thing you want to do is conquer one of the many comfortable sofas, sit and never leave!

The hotel offers various places to chill and absorb its elegance and I am pretty sure every guest will find his or her special spot: there is a corner for green furniture lovers, Art Deco lovers, van fanatics, cozy winter colors, grandiosity, discretion, modernity, tradition, and for nostalgic people.

You would think that such a mixture would lead to a no-go, but it is as if you were contemplating the birth of a masterpiece amidst a hotel. As if you were observing Botticelli’s La Primavera painting but from another view.

Indeed, every aspect of the Fairmont is stunning and different from its neighboring halls, rooms and corridors: once you take a step back and look at the complete picture, you are thunderstruck by its result.

It is as if the architect wanted us to experience the different moods, periods, seasons, and situations that fill our lives in one compound.

Make us understand, that although our existences can be dark, grey, white or cold, there is always a peaceful oasis that awaits us somewhere over the rainbow. That no matter how crazy and hot it can be outside, there is a possibility to cool down, enjoy a tasty ice-cream which is served right around the corner and take you on a nostalgic walk down memory lane.

And isn’t that what the universe is all about? To be able to find these places that have the magical powers to distract you from your routine, hardships, troubles and torments and grab you for an unforgettable moment of true happiness, bliss, beauty, dreams and smiles?

Believe me, the charm and grace which can be found in every corner of every room of every hall of this lobby paradise is a must!
